Since 1941, Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital has provided innovative and life-changing therapies for children in Missouri. Their 60-bed facility offers a unique array of services through inpatient and outpatient programs, helping ill or injured children achieve the best possible outcomes and transition from hospital to home.
Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital features a state-of-the-art facility designed with children in mind. “Care Beyond the Bedside,” which refers to the hospital’s unique care model, provides each child with the resources and support they need to get out of bed and play. This approach ensures that every child is dressed in their clothes, accelerating their progress for a successful transition back home.
Children at Ranken Jordan participate in a wide variety of restorative therapies, including indoor and outdoor activities, socializing, learning, playing, and simply being kids. Without Ranken Jordan, many children are at a higher risk of returning to the ER or hospital, or being transferred to an adult nursing home, none of which provide rehabilitative therapies and life-enhancing, child-friendly services. At Ranken Jordan, kids can be kids despite the overwhelming challenges they may face.
In part to a grant received from the Tilles Foundation, Ranken Jordan was able to purchase much-needed equipment and supplies, including three Explorer Minis for toddler mobility, enhancements to their outdoor baseball field, and the installation of a swing brace in their sensory room.
All of these enhancements serve to increase Ranken Jordan’s capacity for care and ensure that more children are given the opportunity for healing. To learn more about Ranken Jordan, visit www.rankenjordan.org.
